ALNAP Lessons Paper: Adapting humanitarian action to the effects of climate change, October 2021

Groupe URD, AIDMI and the CHC Initiative have been commissioned to produce a new Lessons Paper for ALNAP on adapting humanitarian action to climate change. It will be based on a review of existing resources on the subject and a series of interviews to analyse specific points in greater depth.
As the effects of climate change on the frequency and severity of different types of crisis has become clearer, this document will aim to help humanitarian actors to respond to these changes by sharing the main lessons from previous complex disasters related to the climate.
ALNAP’s Lessons Papers aim to improve the performance of humanitarian action by summarising lessons from previous responses. These documents are aimed principally at agency and NGO staff who design and implement humanitarian responses.
