E-learning RECO Module 3: Prioritising and implementing actions to reduce the carbon footprint of an NGO’s activities, CCD, June 2024

Published on 21 June 2024

In practical terms, what actions can be taken as part of an action plan to reduce our carbon footprint? How do you plan and prioritise them? How can we reconcile feasibility and impact, and take into account the diversity of necessary and possible actions?

So far we have studied the climate impact of international solidarity activities and developed the step-by-step process of developing a RECO strategy within an organisation, with concrete examples of awareness-raising and cooperation methods.

In this third module of the CCD, we try to provide practical information on how organisations can take action. How do you go from calculating your emissions to defining and implementing concrete actions?

In this chapter you will learn:

  • How is the carbon footprint assessed technically?
  • How to define your carbon footprint reduction trajectory
  • What actions can an international solidarity organisation take?
  • What is the feedback and advice from organisations that have already taken this step towards implementation?

Length of course: 45min – 1h

This training course is offered as part of the PAMOC4 project run by GRET, CARE France, Geres, Electriciens sans frontières and CARI, and co-financed by AFD.
