Groupe URD’s environmental approach, June 2023

Published on 10 June 2023

Groupe URD works with operators and donors to help them understand these issues and ways to reduce the environmental footprint of aid in keeping with the humanitarian mandate and the commitments of the international community.
They have established the Humanitarian Environment Network, which we facilitate, and which produces methodological tools and technical files.

They aim to be a model of environmental excellence ourselves, and have designed their centre in the Drôme provençale in the South of France in a way that reduces energy consumption and waste production. Since 2012, they have been assessing their greenhouse gas emissions.

This page summarises Groupe URD’s environmental approach, and includes Groupe URD’s carbon footprints, a note on the strategy to reduce their carbon footprint, and a note on carbon offsetting.
