Humanity & Inclusion’s Environmental Agenda, November 2021
Published on 10 November 2021
Among other things, environmental issues are intrinsically linked to the more global issue of accelerating climate change, which HI has identified as a factor primarily affecting the most vulnerable populations and challenging its ability to cope with its consequences. There are two aspects to climate change:
Adaptation to climate change, which involves any measure that seeks to enable populations to cope with climate change in order to reduce the risks and damage associated with current and future negative climate impacts,
Mitigation of climate change, which means any measure aimed at limiting greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere in order to reduce climate change and its effects.
On this last point, this agenda reaffirms HI’s commitment to its ecological transition towards reducing its environmental footprint through an ambitious agenda adopted in 2018.
