The REH Environmental Assessments Working Group has developed the MERA (Multi-sectoral Environmental Risks Analysis) matrix to help humanitarian and development project developers and technical advisers to become aware of the environmental risks that the projects they are developing may entail, and to rapidly formulate recommendations to mitigate these risks. The matrix provides a non-exhaustive database of mitigation measures for each environmental risk associated with activities in the Food Security & Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Shelter and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support sectors.
The matrix is available in 3 languages: English, French and Spanish. This matrix is collaborative and can evolve by integrating users’ recommendations. You can provide your feedback on the forms in English, French or Spanish, or contact the Working Group via email at evalenv@environnementhumanitaire.org
This matrix is co-funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid.
