Alternative polypropylene bag project, ICRC/UNHCR/WFP, September 2024

The aim of the project narrative report is to provide a “living” account of the main discussions and decisions taken during the project, taking particular account of suggestions from the team and steering committee.

The description of prototype development includes a comparison of the models tested under specific conditions, such as the transportation of food items/non food items or the materials used for the bags.

The LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) comparison looks at the sustainability of alternative bags to polypropylene, and compares 4 types of bag.
