SIF is looking for an Environment and Climate Officer for its offices in Massy (91).
Reporting to the Director of International Programmes and Operations, the main tasks will be as follows (non-exhaustive and evolving list):
- Contribute to developing and strengthening environmental and climate issues in SIF’s operational strategy
- Participate in the development of tools for implementing climate/environmental policies in SIF projects and for improving the quality of SIF interventions
- Support missions for monitoring projects with a strong climate/environmental component
- Participate in the SIF Green Team at headquarters and contribute to technical monitoring in the climate/environment sector to improve the quality of SIF’s responses
- Contribute to the drafting of internal and external communication materials on topics related to environmental preservation.
The ideal candidate
- Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in international relations, socio-economic development or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Managerial and writing skills, very good contextual analysis skills (security management, humanitarian context, etc.)
- Proficiency in project cycle management tools and in taking climate risks and the environmental impact of projects into account
- Rigour, professionalism and responsiveness, excellent writing skills
- Fluent English essential.
