Webinar ‘Monitoring environmental commitments: where do NGOs stand in relation to their reduction targets?’, REH, 11/03/2025

4 years after the signing of the Statement of Commitment by Humanitarian Organisations to the Climate, the signatories present their progress and the state of their thinking on reducing their environmental footprint.

How far have organisations got in calculating their CO2e emissions and reducing them? What reduction activities are ‘acceptable’ and feasible in a context of lack of dedicated funding?

Finally, with the -30% target for 2025 seeming increasingly unlikely, how are organisations approaching their -50% targets for 2030?

We tackled all these questions and more during this webinar in English!

There was on the agenda:

🌿 Contextualisation of the problem of reduction commitments, particularly in the light of the current upheavals in the sector, by Camille Evain from Action Contre la Faim
📃 Presentation of the results of the follow-up report to year +4 of the Declaration of Commitment of Humanitarian Organisations to the Climate, by Johana Bretou-Klein from Groupe URD
💬 Collective discussion on the definition of fair commitments, led by the REH Carbon Working Group
